Delivery & Returns
Japeto provides NEXT (WORKING) DAY DELIVERY as standard in mainland UK with the exception of postcodes AB IV KW PH and BT. Additional delivery charges may apply to non-mainland addresses. We currently use DPD to ship 99% of our non-personalised deliveries and Royal Mail for all personalised orders.
For non- personalised orders you can track your order at the following link: https://track.dpd.co.uk/ Some of the oversize products such as Spades, Forks and Fruit pruners are sent on a 48 hour delivery through EXPD. For personalised orders please call 01243 219912 for a delivery update as engraving times can vary.
FREE NEXT (WORKING) DAY DELIVERY is available for all orders placed over a total value of £60.00 Inc VAT again subject to the conditions above. A delivery charge of £7.95 Inc VAT is applied as standard to all orders below £60.00 Inc VAT to cover the picking, packing and delivery of your Japeto product.
In all cases to achieve NEXT WORKING DAY delivery you must place your order prior to 1pm
Although all the carriers Japeto Ltd uses have excellent delivery records, and although 99% of the time delivery is made as listed, no carrier can 'guarantee' next day delivery.
Restricted Bladed Items
Japeto Ltd has always regarded its product range as being purely garden tools or items for use by gardeners. Gardening is largely a leisurely pastime and would widely be regarded as a ‘hobby’ to most. However Japeto Ltd understands it does sell certain items that could be interpreted as ‘restricted bladed items’
Although Japeto Ltd has always gone to great lengths to ensure the sale of such items is to people over the age of 18, since April 2024 regulations have tightened. As such, Japeto Ltd has undertaken to increase its vigilance in this area.
All Japeto orders are now shipped using either:
- For non-personalised orders Japeto uses DPD’s age verification service.
- For personalised orders Japeto uses Royal Mail Tracked Age Verification service.
In both cases above the delivery person will request a form of identification from any customer who looks under the age of 25.
We have tried our best to simplify ordering from Japeto Ltd and as such now deliver all items (bladed or otherwise) on an aged service (see above)
In all cases we have tried to keep delivery costs as low as we can but in order to provide an age check service as well as next day delivery. As standard we charge £7.95 for picking, packing and posting on all orders below £60.00 including VAT. Above that value delivery is free.
Returns
The Buyer has the right to cancel a Contract in so far as it relates to Goods at any time up to the end of seven Working Days after the Buyer receives the Goods subject to clause 8.8 of our Terms & Conditions.
To exercise the right of cancellation, the Buyer must give written notice to the Company by hand or post, fax or email, at the address, fax number or e-mail address shown below, giving details of the Goods and/or Services (where appropriate) their delivery.
If the Buyer exercises the right of cancellation after the Goods have been delivered to the Buyer, the Buyer will be responsible for returning the Goods to the Company at the Buyer’s own cost. A collection by Japeto can be arranged, but a 15% re-stocking charge will be applied. The Goods must be returned within 21 days of cancellation. The Buyer must take reasonable care to ensure the Goods are not damaged in the meantime or in transit. If the Buyer fails to take reasonable care of the Goods, the Company will be entitled to charge the Buyer for the price of the Goods.
The Buyer does not have the right to cancel a Contract if the order is for Special Goods or for Goods which by their nature cannot be returned or are liable to deteriorate or for Goods which have been used by the Buyer which may reasonably be regarded as adversely affecting the Company’s ability to resell such Goods.
